INGREDIENT DESCRIPTIONS Chicken – Is best known for its high protein content, but it provides broad nutrient support. There are plentiful amounts of amino acids that are important for support of cardiac and skeletal muscle. All B vitamins are present in chicken, as well as folate, biotin, and choline. Chicken Broth – A low sodium broth essential for a high-moisture food. Egg – Good source of highly digestible protein (~100% digestible); naturally rich source of selenium, vitamin D, B6, B12 and minerals such as zinc, iron and copper. Tapioca Starch – A form of Carbohydrates derived from the root of the cassava plant Sunflower Oil- Is a linoleic acid produced by expressing the oils from the sunflower seeds. Sunflower oil is low in saturated fat, which makes it a better choice than oils and fats that are high in saturated fat. Sunflower oil is used to provide essential fatty acids. Essential fatty acids (EFAs) are fats that must be supplied in the diet because the body cannot produce them. They are required for normal growth and functioning of the cells, muscles, nerves, and organs and the production of prostaglandins. Deficiencies of EFAs are linked to a variety of health problems, including heart disease, cancer and diabetes. Calcium Chloride – A source of calcium, which is essential in maintaining healthy bones and teeth. Potassium Chloride – A source of potassium important for acid-base balance, a healthy nervous system and a regular heart rhythm. Salt – A natural source of the minerals sodium and chloride which are essential nutrients required by both dogs and cats. They help regulate water balance in the body, aid in muscle contraction and regulate the body’s acid balance. Choline Chloride – A source of choline, a water-soluble nutrient, essential for proper nerve function including memory and muscle control. Taurine – Is an amino acid required by both cats and dogs. While normally thought of as essential just for cats, taurine deficiency has been observed in some dogs eating certain pet foods. It is important for vision and cardiac health. Dried Parsley- Parsley is highly nutritious and a rich source of protein, fiber, and vitamins A, C, B1, B2, and K. It also contains trace minerals such as calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus. Parsley is anti-inflammatory and can help dogs with inflammatory issues such as arthritis and cancer. It is also a diuretic and can lower blood pressure. In addition to its abundant nutritional benefits, parsley is often added to dog treats as a breath freshener or used to soothe the stomach. Iron Amino Acid Chelate – An organic source of iron. Iron is an essential mineral for preventing anemia and stimulating the production of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the red blood cell pigment that carries oxygen within the body. Manganese Amino Acid Chelate – Organic source of manganese. Manganese is an essential mineral and is necessary for the proper formation and maintenance of connective tissue. Zinc Amino Acid Chelate – An organic source of zinc. Zinc is an essential mineral that supports healthy skin and coat. It helps maintain a normal sense of taste and smell, aids in the maintenance of a healthy immune system and helps in the synthesis of DNA and RNA. Calcium Iodate – A source of the essential mineral iodine necessary for proper thyroid function, which produces and excretes hormones. A healthy thyroid controls metabolism rate. Copper Amino Acid Chelate – An organic source of copper. Copper promotes normal red blood cell formation, aids in the production of several enzymes involved in respiration and promotes proper connective tissue formation. Magnesium Amino Acid Chelate – A chelated source of magnesium. Magnesium is required for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body. Multiple health benefits of magnesium include transmission of nerve impulses, body temperature regulation, detoxification, energy production, and the absorption of calcium, which maintains healthy bones and teeth. Sodium Selenite – A source of the essential mineral selenium. Selenium is a potent antioxidant and works in conjunction with vitamin E. Vitamin A Supplement – A fat-soluble vitamin that is essential for healthy skin, coat and eyes/vision. Vitamin D3 Supplement – A fat-soluble vitamin which promotes healthy skin, bones and teeth. It is necessary for the proper absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin E Supplement – A fat-soluble vitamin and a potent antioxidant that helps to improve circulation and cardiac output. Thiamine Mononitrate – A source of vitamin B6. All B vitamins help the body convert food (carbohydrates) into fuel (glucose), which is used to produce energy. Thiamine is essential for the metabolism of carbohydrates and also plays an important role in helping maintain a healthy nervous system Riboflavin Supplement – A source of vitamin B2. Riboflavin is important for the digestion of fats and carbohydrates and promotes healthy skin and coat. Pyridoxine Hydrochloride – A source of vitamin B6. Pyridoxine is essential for the metabolism of proteins. It acts as a cofactor for the large number of enzymes involved in the synthesis of amino acids and metabolism. Vitamin B12 Supplement – B vitamin also known as cyanocobalamin. Vitamin B12 is a coenzyme in nucleic acid, protein and lipid synthesis. Niacin Supplement – A source of vitamin B3. Niacin plays an important role in energy metabolism in the body. 6-Calcium Pantothenate – A source of vitamin B5, which is also referred to as pantothenic acid. Pantothenic acid is vital in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats; for healthy skin; and is used in the synthesis of coenzyme A, an enzyme that participates in a variety of reactions in the body, especially the breaking down of fatty acids. Ascorbic Acid (source of Vitamin C) – Is a natural water-soluble vitamin (Vitamin C). Ascorbic acid is a potent reducing and antioxidant agent that functions in fighting bacterial infections, in detoxifying reactions, and in the formation of collagen in fibrous tissue, teeth, bones, connective tissue, skin, and capillaries. Folic Acid – B vitamin also known as vitamin B9. Folic acid is a water-soluble vitamin that plays an important role in various cellular functions. Biotin- A source of vitamin B7; occasionally it may also be referred to as a vitamin H. Biotin plays an important role in the metabolism of fats, carbohydrates and proteins. It is especially important as it promotes the normal health of skin and coat GUARANTEED ANALYSIS Crude Protein (min.) 11.00% Crude Fat (min.) 1.50% Crude Fiber (max.) 1.50% Moisture (max.) 82.00% Magnesium (max.) 0.03% Taurine (min) 0.10% RAWZ® is a 100% Nutritionally Complete & Balanced Diet for Maintenance.
